VegeCol is a pure and highly bioavailable protein amino acid blend which provides a specially tailored amino acid profile similar to that found in marine and bovine collagen, enriched with BCAAs to also provide support to muscle, all while being 100% vegan fermentation derived. No animal products, with all the benefits of animal collagen.

Collagen is an excellent protein source for supporting healthy connective tissue such as joints, bones, and muscle fascia, as well as maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails. However, collagen is only found in animals (bovine collagen is made from beef connective tissue, and marine collagen is made from shark cartilage and fish skin), which makes it unsuitable for vegans and vegetarians.

VegeCol is the first true vegan collagen on the market to directly provide the amino acids required to build connective tissue and protect skin, hair, joints, nails and muscle. Being made up of a blend of individual amino acids, this formula mimics completely hydrolysed collagen making it extremely bioavailable, meaning the serving size can be much smaller while the formula goes much further than regular collagen (meaning it's a great alternative to collagen even for meat-eaters!). Individual amino acids do have a bitter taste compared with collagen, so we do recommend you mix VegeCol in with another drink to help improve the taste.
Animal collagen also contains hydroxyproline, where VegeCol does not. However, dietary hydroxyproline cannot be used by the body to make collagen directly, but rather is first metabolised to glycine. The hydroxyproline found in our bodies’ collagen is instead made from dietary proline. This formula has been carefully designed by experts with this in mind to optimise supply of the necessary aminos to enhance and support healthy collagen production.

Here are some common questions about The Protein Factory.

We always aim to get your order in the mail on the same day you order, or the next business day at the latest. We ship from our facility in Victoria with Australia Post so can't always guarantee the exact shipping time, but it's usually fair to expect your order to arrive within 2 to 5 days to most places in Australia for the standard shipping option. 

Shipping charges (anywhere in Australia) are:
$9.50 for orders less than 500g (around 5 jars of capsules)
$14.50 for orders between 500g and 3kg (just over two 1kg protein tubs)
$19.50 for orders between 3kg and 5kg (about four 1kg protein tubs)
$29.50 for orders over 5kg

These are calculated dynamically at checkout based on approximate shipping weight (which includes packaging) and are commensurate with the amounts we are charged by Australia Post to send your order. Express post is now available for orders less than 3kg, and is an extra $5. 

You're able to spend loyalty points accrued from previous orders to get a discount which can help offset shipping costs. If there are any issues with your order (it doesn't arrive or arrives damaged), contact us and we'll organise a replacement. We also offer Click & Collect to our store in Ferntree Gully, Vic. If you are ordering from outside Australia, contact us and we'll do our best to organise you a better shipping rate.
Everything is manufactured, blended, or packed right here in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia by our small family-run food lab, Biodome Functional Foods, right up the road from our store! We pride ourselves in using the highest quality ingredients available while keeping prices low by retailing what we manufacture direct to consumer. We do our best to source what we can from Australia, and where we import from overseas we only accept materials conforming to Australian standards for quality and purity.

When ordering from our website or buying in-store, you'll earn loyalty points as long as you're logged in (it's free and easy to create an account in the menu at the top of the page). These points can be redeemed for a discount on your order. These discounts aren't really factored into the cost of our products, so are more of a way of saying thanks for supporting our small business.
We're a small, family run business who manufacture and retail our own products, so we have a bit of a different mindset than the other players. Rather than having huge profit margins and offering discounts once in a while, we think it's better to just charge a fair price all-year-round. We almost never run sales, and instead our regular prices are about the same as most brands 'huge sale' prices. Seriously, compare our prices with the competition and you'll see we come in much cheaper most of the time, for the exact same or higher quality. We find having to wait for things to go on sale just as annoying as you do, so we've decided to just make everything affordable all of the time.
We're a very small team, so we have less of a corporate mindset than most of our competitors. We do our best to supply the highest quality products we can, and source locally where we're able. We only want to make products that genuinely work, and if we get feedback that a product isn't living up to expectations we'll reformulate or discontinue it. On the flipside, if we've discontinued a product which wasn't selling, but which a handful of people really liked, we've been known to bring it back just for them. Much of our packaging is recyclable and we're always looking for ways to improve our sustainability and reduce our environmental impact. If we have a moral or ethical objection to a specific product's raw material (e.g. for animal welfare or environmental impact reasons), we simply refuse to sell it. We have a no-squashing-bugs policy (our staff are expected to gently take them outside). We don't use generative AI to make any of our art or text. Hopefully that gives you an idea of who we are and how we like to run our business.
If you are on any medication, or have a medical condition which can affect your body's reaction to supplements, you should speak with your doctor regarding their use. We are unable to advise if our products will interact with your medication or condition, so it is always best to err on the side of caution and not take our supplements if you are unsure.

No, our supplements are not for children under 15 years old.
If you have a damaged or defective product, contact us and we'll organise a refund or replacement. If you simply change your mind, as long as you let us know within 30 days and still have the container unopened we'll usually be happy to offer a refund or exchange. Please note that we can't accept returns of opened products unless there is an issue with the product.
