Quality Control
All new materials we receive are put through state-of-the-art testing procedures to guarantee their purity. The cornerstone of our testing is our use of a Fourier Transform Infra-Red Raman Spectroscope, a handheld device which measures inelastic Raman scattering of infra-red light off the particles which make up the material. This scattering is measured at different wavelengths and is used to generate a spectrum unique to each compound which can be automatically compared against a certified standard library and verified using our analytical chemistry expertise.
In this image our founder Brad can be seen validating a d-limonene sample to be used in the production of various Cannamimetic products.

In-House Certification
In this image it can be seen that the wavenumber vs intensity graphs of the sample vs standard match very well, successfully validating the compound as d-limonene (aka carvene).

Other Testing Techniques
Many shampoos and creams for instance claim to contain hemp oil. Hemp oil fluoresces strongly orange (~590nm) when exposed to UV light at 395nm. As you can see in this photograph, under white light the sample of shampoo with hemp oil is cloudy while that without hemp oil is translucent, and when exposed to UV only the sample containing hemp oil fluoresces orange. This is an excellent 'litmus test' for the presence of hemp oil prior to carrying out more complex tests.
